Don’t Eat Sweets?…. Let’s See… Sugar Test

the secret to weight lossIf you were to ask a nutritionist or personal trainer, (being that you were trying to lose weight), “what should be the first food items to eliminate from your diet, sugar would top the list? “Cut out the sweets” is one of the first things we hear when contemplating weight loss.

Unbelievably, for some it’s as easy as pie, but for others…. it’s like asking them to jump over the Grand Canyon. But lets take this sweet eating THANG a step further.  Lets take a closer look at THOSE that say they don’t care for sweets….(aka …Eat Them) to see if they really don’t eat sweets…

Sugar Derivatives

We know to look for sugar in our foods…Right?  It’s sad to say that the food industry’s job is to stay a step or two ahead of us. And even worse to say, that they practice the Golden Rule…”he who has the GOLD… RULES” So in order to inject more sweetness into our foods, food manufactures added sugar derivatives. Just to confuse us a little.

Normally when someone says they don’t eat sweets, they are basically speaking about the sugary items that’s lined along each check-out counter aisle. However, what they aren’t aware of is the hidden sugars and sugar derivatives that’s buried in most of our foods.

WARNING: There are ingredients in our food that are laden with disguised sugar and can cause massive weight gain, by stacking- up hundreds of additional hidden calories and induce inflammation-causing health challenges.

Listed here are a few camouflaged additives:  

  • corn syrup,
  • high fructose corn syrup,
  • molasses,
  • honey,
  • sorghum,
  • glucose,
  • fructose,
  • lactose,
  • dextrose,
  • sucrose,
  • galactose,
  • maltose,
  • or concentrated juices like grape or apple?
  • Simple Syrup
  • Cane Juice

Most people doesn’t realize just how many hidden calories are in our so called healthy treats and condiments. Not to mention the damaging effects from  high fructose corn syrup.

So how do we combat or identify the hidden calories or EXTRA sugar that we don’t even know that we are eating? … We have to educate ourselves and learn to read labels.

Listed are a few such products… how many hidden sugars are you guilty of eating?

  • Diet Soft Drinks
  • Spaghetti Sauce
  • Ketchup
  • Salad Dressings
  • Breads
  • Hamburger and Hot Dog Rolls
  • Syrup

  • Tomato Juice

 

The easiest way to identify those ingredients, that we have NO CLUE of WHAT WE’RE EATING Is… IF YOU CAN’T PRONOUNCE IT… IT’S PROBABLY NOT GOOD FOR YOU.

Think about it…. many of us can enunciate, sugar, water, oil, baking soda, salt, cocoa, nuts… you get the picture. Let’s keep it simple.. Try this and see how it works for YOU!
